"Crime Suppression Division" coordinated with Laotian authorities to take custody of "Dr. Win" a member of the local civil service exam fraud gang at the Nong Khai immigration checkpoint.
On 13 July 2026, Police Colonel Suriyasak Jirawat, Superintendent of Division 3, Crime Suppression Division, along with officers from Operations Units 2 and 3, coordinated to take custody of Mr. Win Thanaphotphokin, also known as Mr. Asawin Chotipanang, advisor to the Director of the Promotion and Training Office at Kasetsart University, one of the suspects in the local civil service exam fraud ring, at the Nong Khai immigration checkpoint after Lao police detained the suspect on 11 July 2026.
Currently, Mr. Asawin Chotipanang is being brought in for further questioning at the Crime Suppression Division headquarters.
