Detention of Sataporn, Sister of Dr. Win, Among Suspects Arrested in Local Examination Fraud Case

Investigators from the Crime Suppression Division brought Sataporn, sister of Dr. Win and one of the suspects arrested in the local examination fraud case, to the Criminal Court for detention. On 14 July 2026, following the arrest of suspects involved in the local government civil servant examination fraud, including Mr. Asawin, also known as “Dr. Win,” an advisor to the director of a university's Promotion and Training Office, who was detained by Laos authorities before being extradited to Thailand for prosecution; Ms. Sataporn, nicknamed “Ja,” Dr. Win’s sister, arrested at Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus in Nakhon Pathom; and Sergeant Major Dr. Pitchit, known as “Sergeant Pitchit,” director of the Strategy and Budget Division of Wichian Buri Municipality in Phetchabun, apprehended under an arrest warrant issued by the Crime Suppression Division. Sources from the Crime Suppression Division reported progress in the local government examination fraud case, stating that all three main suspects have now been arrested. Initially, Mr. Pitchit claimed that the previous day authorities conducted searches at several residences, including his wife’s and children’s homes and condominiums. He also suspected that his financial channels might have been frozen, causing him distress and pressure. Additionally, he was concerned about his safety, which led him to voluntarily come to the Crime Suppression Division. Authorities planned to present Ms. Sataporn, nicknamed “Ja,” to the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases for initial detention before noon today. The other two suspects, Mr. Asawin (“Dr. Win”) and Sergeant Major Dr. Pitchit (“Sergeant Pitchit”), remain under investigation and are expected to be presented for detention the following day.
