New Nimmit Mai Police Chief Tightens Safety Measures at Local Bars and Restaurants, Fire Extinguishers and Emergency Exits Must Be Ready

Acting Chief of Nimmit Mai Police Station called a meeting with over 20 local restaurant and entertainment venue operators to strictly emphasize customer safety following the fire incident at Lardprao Beer House.

At 2:30 p.m. on 14 July 2026, Pol. Col. Chaitat Chiangta, Investigation Group Chief of Regional Police Division 3 and Acting Chief of Nimmit Mai Police Station, together with Pol. Lt. Col. Jeradpiwat Tangyoochok, Deputy Chief of Police Operations at Nimmit Mai Police Station, convened a meeting with more than 20 local restaurant and entertainment venue operators to stress strict customer safety enforcement after the Lardprao Beer House fire, which caused multiple deaths and injuries. The operators cooperated fully during the meeting.

Pol. Col. Chaitat stated this aligns with the policy of Metropolitan Police Commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom and Regional Police Commander No. 3 Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasong Anmanee. They require all responsible areas to engage restaurant and entertainment operators in discussions about customer safety. Venues must have emergency response plans, conduct fire evacuation drills, keep emergency exits clear and unobstructed, maintain fully functional electrical systems, and ensure fire extinguishers are clearly installed, ready to use, and easily accessible. In case of an incident, prompt announcements must be made to allow safe evacuation and minimize casualties as much as possible.

The Acting Chief of Nimmit Mai Police Station added that following the meeting, police officers along with relevant agencies will inspect every venue to provide advice and improve safety plans to the highest standards. No errors will be tolerated.
