Lawyer for Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao Confirms Ready to Provide Compensation, Initial Funeral Support of 10,000 Baht per Case

The lawyer for "Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao" restaurant gave a statement to police, confirming readiness to compensate victims with an initial funeral allowance of 10,000 baht per person. He revealed the restaurant owner remains in critical condition in the ICU.

On 14 Jul 2026 at 14:00 at Phahonyothin Police Station, Mr. Nithirut Jetiyatheeranan, the lawyer for "Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao," arrived to meet investigators, submitting documents and evidence related to the restaurant’s operations, including registration papers, lease agreements, and other documents, and provided initial testimony.

Mr. Nithirut disclosed that he was assigned by the restaurant to coordinate with authorities. He arrived early in the morning and prepared to file a daily report regarding a deceased relative who passed away in a Chonburi hospital, having already received initial medical expenses of 10,200 baht. Regarding compensation measures, the restaurant is ready to provide reparations to both the deceased and injured. For the deceased, they have set aside an initial funeral and assistance fund of 10,000 baht per case, currently sufficient for 30 victims. Relatives can contact Phahonyothin Police Station to receive the funds.

"This fund is a reserve from the restaurant, decided jointly by the owner's family and about 4-5 involved parties. Despite concerns about legal action, all agreed to prioritize swift compensation for victims, paying according to the restaurant’s capacity and available budget. Details for injured persons are still under discussion, but the intention to compensate is clear. Relatives of victims can contact Phahonyothin Police Station to receive assistance, and the process will be expedited to cover all cases," the lawyer said.

Additionally, the lawyer said that regarding the restaurant’s insurance, Mr. Nithirut believes the policy is likely to cover all compensation for victims. However, exact figures are unavailable pending the insurance company’s on-site damage assessment. Previously, they have communicated with the insurer and submitted all relevant documents. Once the claim is approved, the restaurant will promptly use the funds to compensate victims and families without delay.

Regarding the owner’s condition, he remains hospitalized in the ICU in critical condition. Doctors assess his chances at about 50-50. He is still unable to provide statements to investigators because he has been unconscious since the incident and is not fully aware of the situation. Nonetheless, the option for him to give testimony remains open if his condition improves.

Concerning the restaurant’s partners, no detailed document review or fact verification has been conducted yet, so it is not confirmed whether the partners are relatives of the owner.

About the restaurant’s registration, Mr. Nithirut stated that it is registered as a "restaurant" permitted to hold live music performances. However, details about the operating hours or closing times per day are not yet available as the documents have not been fully reviewed. These details remain with the owner. Furthermore, representatives from the restaurant intend to meet with all victims’ families. After completing procedures at Phahonyothin Police Station, they will visit the families to express condolences and take responsibility.

"Going forward, several factors must be considered, including compensation rights from insurance and social security benefits under Section 33. It requires verification whether all restaurant employees are registered insured persons entitled to legal rights. This will involve gathering information from employees and related parties. I affirm that"

"Since the incident, I have not fled but have been collecting all evidence to submit to investigators. I admit that everyone involved with the restaurant is deeply distressed and saddened by what happened. When ready, those involved will personally apologize to the victims’ families and society," Mr. Nithirut said.
