Two gunmen sprayed bullets at a former technical college student from an institute in the Pathumwan area, killing him inside Soi Chaeng Watthana-Pak Kret 23. They took advantage of the victim riding a motorcycle to work, intercepted him on the road, fired multiple shots, and then mercilessly fired several more times to make sure he was dead.
At 07:30 on 21 July 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suwat Sanaeha, Investigating Officer at Pak Kret Police Station in Nonthaburi Province, received a report of a shooting death in front of a condominium inside Soi Chaeng Watthana-Pak Kret 23, Chaeng Watthana Road, Khlong Kluea Subdistrict. He went to investigate with Police Colonel Adirek Thongkaemkaew, Chief of Pak Kret Police Station; Police Colonel Supachai Srisak, Chief of Investigation, Nonthaburi Provincial Police; Police Lieutenant Colonel Karun Limpirojnarit, Deputy Chief of Investigation; Police Lieutenant Colonel Wisit Chomchoei, Investigation Officer; Police Lieutenant Sanan Janmo, Deputy Investigation Officer; and investigative teams from Pak Kret and Nonthaburi Provincial Police.
At the scene, the body of Jarukit Rodlong, 25, was found. He was a maintenance technician at a condominium in the Tao Poon area and lived at house number 62/35, Moo 4, Khlong Kluea Subdistrict, within the soi where the incident occurred. He was shot five times with a 9mm handgun in both arms and his body. Nearby was a grey Honda Wave motorcycle without license plates, in nearly new condition, lying on its side in the middle of the road with one bullet lodged in the front turn signal. Additionally, three bullet casings were found on the road, collected by authorities as evidence.
Investigation revealed that before the incident, Jarukit was riding his motorcycle from home to work when two suspects, both wearing helmets and riding a red Honda PCX motorcycle with unknown license plates, ambushed him en route. As Jarukit passed, the suspects pursued him, and the passenger drew a gun and fired, injuring Jarukit until he fell with both motorcycle and rider on the road. The gunman then stopped, got off the motorcycle, and cruelly fired several more shots at close range to ensure his death before fleeing.
Police Colonel Adirek Thongkaemkaew, Chief of Pak Kret Police Station, said initial checks have not determined a clear motive. The investigation learned that the victim was a former technical student from an institute in Pathumwan, Bangkok, but had left the school and been working for several years. He was ambushed and fatally shot while commuting to work. Relatives and witnesses said the suspects had been waiting in the area for one to two days. Investigators are urgently reviewing CCTV footage along the escape route.
The suspects concealed their faces with helmets and wore long-sleeved jackets. Police are still investigating whether the incident relates to conflicts between institutions. They have identified the motorcycle used and are tracing the escape route to track down the perpetrators.
