The Crime Suppression Division is urgently gathering additional evidence to prosecute others involved in the local exam fraud case after Dr. Win, one of the previously arrested suspects, implicated a director affiliated with Srinakharinwirot University and another with the Department of Local Administration. Authorities are preparing to propose that the National Anti-Corruption Commission issue arrest warrants for prosecution.
On 21 July 2026 at the Crime Suppression Division headquarters, reporters were updated on the local exam fraud case. This evening, the NACC task force invited Pol. Maj. Gen. Phatthanasak Buppasuwan, commander of the Crime Suppression Division, along with the related investigators, to a meeting at the NACC office in Sanambinnam, Nonthaburi Province. The meeting concerned issuing summonses for 11 local officials who were caught altering exam answers during a search operation in Nonthaburi, requiring them to provide statements and be formally charged.
Reporters also noted that discussions would include expanding investigations to issue arrest warrants for additional individuals involved in the wrongdoing. Previously, Mr. Win Thanaphotphokin, advisor to the Director of the Office of Promotion and Training at Kasetsart University—also known as Dr. Win and one of the three suspects arrested earlier—testified implicating directors affiliated with Srinakharinwirot University and the Department of Local Administration as masterminds behind the exam fraud.
Sources reported that Pol. Lt. Gen. Natsak Chawanase, commissioner of the Crime Suppression Division, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Phatthanasak and the investigative team to expedite gathering further evidence to prosecute both individuals. After collecting sufficient evidence, two prosecution routes are planned: first, Crime Suppression investigators will submit a request to the court for arrest warrants and forward evidence to the NACC; second, investigators may send all evidence to the NACC and allow its investigators to request arrest warrants from the court under the NACC’s legal authority.
It was reported that last week, investigators from the Anti-Corruption Division summoned Dr. Ruangdet Sirikit, director of the Testing and Psychological Services Office at Srinakharinwirot University, and Mr. Panomtian Sengwan, director of Local Personnel at the Department of Local Administration, for questioning. However, the investigation team declined to provide details, stating that all testimonies would be coordinated with the Crime Suppression Division’s investigative team for further prosecution steps.
