
The Chiang Saen Immigration Checkpoint welcomed the Minister of Justice during his visit to inspect drug interception operations along the Thai-Lao Mekong River area.
At 09:00 on 22 July 2026, Police Lieutenant General Ruthapol Nawarat, Minister of Justice, accompanied by Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Singhakamol, Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, and the delegation, traveled to inspect drug interception operations along the Thai-Lao Mekong River in Chiang Rai Province and Bokeo Province, Lao PDR.
The visit aimed to monitor progress in drug prevention and suppression along the border and to strengthen law enforcement cooperation between Thailand and neighboring countries.
Police Colonel Ekkorn Bussababodin, Deputy Commander of Immigration Division 5, Police Colonel Pattharaphong Inwanna, Chief of Chiang Saen Immigration Checkpoint, and local security agencies welcomed them at the Operations Center meeting room of the Chiang Saen Immigration Checkpoint, the permanent Golden Triangle border crossing (Ban Sop Ruak), Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province. The Minister of Justice presented morale-boosting supplies to representatives of related agencies.
