Pathum Thani police arrested “Beer Bangna,” the son of a local Subdistrict Administrative Organization official, for smashing a car window while stopped at a red light and assaulting his ex-girlfriend until she lost consciousness. A drug test showed purple urine, leading to an immediate court referral. The suspect apologized with a trembling voice.
Ms. Walailak, 38, reported to Sam Khok police in Pathum Thani that Mr. Therdsak, 39, her ex-boyfriend whom she dated for about six months before breaking up, had ambushed and threatened her, throwing bricks at her car windshield twice while she was stopped at a red light, shattering the glass. The incident occurred on the evening of 18 July 2026. The victim then sought help from Mr. Gun Jomphalang, urging police to expedite their pursuit of the suspect, who had previously assaulted her until she lost consciousness and attacked her family members, including children and elders, and even stabbed her sister’s neck, requiring three stitches. The family lived in fear, especially as the suspect is the son of a local politician, raising concerns about potential interference, as previously reported.
In the latest update today (22 July 2026), Police Colonel Theparit Chawanawik, superintendent of Sam Khok police, stated that after the victim reported being assaulted and threatened by Mr. Therdsak, aka “Beer Bangna,” 39, who smashed her car window, the police acted promptly. They tracked the suspect, who initially promised to surrender the next day but later avoided doing so, claiming he needed to meet with Mr. Gun Jomphalang to present evidence and then apologize to the victim. However, he neither met the police nor Mr. Gun.
Yesterday evening (21 July 2026), the superintendent ordered the investigation team led by Deputy Superintendent Chakart Lekaram and Senior Sergeant Major Chonmophee Luanghor to search for the suspect. They located Mr. Therdsak near Bangna Temple in Bang Pho Nuea subdistrict, Sam Khok district, Pathum Thani. He was brought to the station, and a urine drug test returned positive (purple urine). He was charged with drug use, property damage, and intimidation. The suspect initially confessed. Today, he was sent to Pathum Thani Provincial Court. Other charges, such as assault or attempted murder as desired by the victim’s sister, await medical examination results.
Meanwhile, lawyers from the Rose legal team accompanied the victims, Ms. Walailak and Ms. Wilaiwan, 42, to the police station to submit a letter to the Sam Khok police superintendent requesting a change of investigating officer. They were concerned that the current officer would be absent for training for several days, which might delay the case. The superintendent acknowledged the request and said he would consider reassigning the case to another investigator.
At 13:00, police escorted Mr. Therdsak, or “Beer Bangna,” from the detention room at the police station to Pathum Thani Provincial Court. He apologized to the victim’s family with a trembling voice, stating that he had admitted to smashing the car window but declined to comment on other charges.
Furthermore, Mrs. Dusita Chaonlert, director of the Pathum Thani Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office, assigned staff to visit the victim’s home to assist with filing protection requests and coordinated with Pathum Thani Hospital to provide Ms. Walailak with psychological care.
