CCTV footage released to track burglar. "Pang Siang Isan" Stole cash garlands totaling 100,000 baht while traveling to a mini concert in Bangkok.
At 12:00 on 23 July 2026, it was reported that Pol. Lt. Col. Prem Treamtua, an investigator at Udon Thani City Police Station, was on duty when Ms. Natthadiporn Khankham, 32, known as Nong Pang Siang Isan, leader and star of the Isan folk music band, along with her personal manager Mr. Theerawat Sriubon, 36, reported a burglary at their home. Approximately 100,000 baht in cash garlands from fans was stolen between 8 and 19 July 2026 at their residence in Nong Nakham Subdistrict, Mueang Udon Thani District. Police investigator Pol. Lt. Bantheng Thapyotha joined the inquiry, with CCTV footage serving as evidence.
Neighbor's CCTV at 03:51 on 13 July 2026 captured a suspect, a woman aged about 30-35, riding a women's bicycle wearing a black shirt, jeans, and white sneakers. She entered the village, appeared to scout the area passing in front of the house, then turned back to the front. She parked and got off the bicycle, walking toward the house. Indoor CCTV did not record, but the thief entered through the damaged back door, pushed the screen aside, reached in to unlock the door, then entered, stealing about 70,000 baht in cash garlands and another 30,000 baht from a drawer and piggy bank, totaling approximately 100,000 baht.
Nong Pang said she traveled to a mini concert in Bangkok on 8 July 2026 and returned on 19 July. She noticed five cash garlands and a bouquet of cash were missing from the house. Upon opening the piggy bank, all money was gone. Checking the indoor CCTV, which operates in real-time with motion alerts, she found a notification at 03:50 on 13 July. She then reviewed CCTV from nearby neighbors during the same timeline and found a female suspect riding a bicycle near the house.
Nong Pang continued that the stolen items were cash garlands made by fans, money in the piggy bank, and cash placed in front of the TV, totaling about 100,000 baht. There was no sign of forced entry, but the swollen back door could be pulled open. The thief pried off the screen, reached in to unlock the inner door latch, then entered. She expressed shock, distress, and anger, saying, "Why does this happen only to me? There was no warning or suspicion. I've lived here for three years, and this is the first time experiencing a burglary."
She normally does not keep cash at home but had accumulated cash garlands, about 4-5 in total, mostly 100-baht bills, totaling around 70,000 baht, plus trip money received in hand and money in the piggy bank, altogether about 100,000 baht.
"I want to tell the thief that I feel very hurt and sad about this because the garlands were from the season closing performance at my home in Udon Thani in June 2026. Mae Noknoi comforted me with a hug. This is the first time in my life experiencing such an event and I was quite shocked. I will be more careful in the future. I admit some negligence on our part—the CCTV was not functioning at that time, possibly broken. I consider this a major misfortune. I still feel unsettled. How could the thief be so cruel?"
Investigators will inspect the crime scene and review CCTV footage in the area to track down the suspect for legal action.
