The Royal Thai Police have joined forces with the FBI and 19 international allies to enhance cooperation in combating scammers and transnational crime, focusing on intelligence sharing, real-time data exchange, and cross-border investigations.
On 24 July 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaturaphat Piromkaew, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, announced that the Royal Thai Police have taken a significant step in international law enforcement cooperation. Thailand's proactive measures in combating cyber and transnational crimes have been internationally recognized.
Reflecting this bilateral cooperation, the Deputy Spokesperson revealed the official visit of Mr. Kash Patel, Director of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Director Patel chose Thailand as his first official foreign visit destination, meeting with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Government House, and holding discussions with Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch, Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, at the police headquarters.
Director Patel praised Thailand's law enforcement efforts against scammers and human trafficking and expressed gratitude for the enduring relationship between the United States and Thailand. He also thanked Thailand for co-hosting the Executive Scam Center Summit, commending the Royal Thai Police as an important regional law enforcement partner.
. The “Executive Scam Center Summit” was organized by the FBI on 20-21 July 2026 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Bangkok. The meeting gathered 78 senior law enforcement executives from 19 international partner countries. Director Patel participated and honored the closing ceremony. The main objective was to collaboratively develop actionable strategies and strengthen international alliances to dismantle scam gang strongholds and eradicate transnational crime networks.
Representatives from various countries and the FBI agreed that the goal is not only to arrest individual offenders but to uproot and destroy the infrastructure of these transnational criminal organizations. The next phase of cooperation will focus on enhancing intelligence sharing, real-time information exchange, and cross-border investigations. Additionally, international agencies will prioritize building capabilities to proactively counter new forms of cyber threats.
As criminal networks continuously adapt, employing increasingly complex psychological scams, the Royal Thai Police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
