A foreign man, in a frenzy, stabbed a patrol police officer from Khlong Tan Police Station, causing injury. The officer fired back, and subsequently, good Samaritans helped to surround and detain the man.

At 16:30 on 24 Sep 2026 GMT+7, investigators at Khlong Tan Police Station received a report of a foreign man in a frenzy stabbing a police officer, who was injured. The suspect was shot in return and injured. The incident occurred in front of a condominium on Soi Pattanakarn 54 (Soi Pholthep), Pattanakarn Subdistrict, Suan Luang District, Bangkok. Police Colonel Phisit Meewiriyakul, superintendent of Khlong Tan Police Station, staff from the Erawan Center, and volunteers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation responded to the scene.

At the scene, Sergeant Major Jarut Yaemsuan, head of the Crime Division at Khlong Tan Police Station, was found injured with stab wounds and was taken to Police General Hospital. Authorities also found broken glass from a shop and blood droplets scattered around the area.

The suspect is a foreign man, approximately 40-50 years old, tall and large, with dark skin, wearing a black shirt. He initially fled but was later apprehended by police and civilians. He sustained one gunshot wound to the abdomen and two to the back of his thigh. Officials provided assistance before transporting him to Police General Hospital.

Investigations revealed that police were called to quell a disturbance caused by a foreign man destroying property, smashing shop windows, and stabbing locals.
