The Metropolitan Police Chief has ordered the formation of a fact-finding committee. The five senior officers at Phra Khanong Police Station. In the case of the raid on a well-known nightclub in the Srinakarin area, eight individuals tested positive for drugs, and many patrons under 20 years old were present. It was confirmed that if any involvement or negligence is found, disciplinary action will be taken.
At approximately 02:30 on 27 July 2026, the 191 Police Unit together with Phra Khanong Police Station raided an establishment in Soi Supapong 3, near Srinakarin Soi 40, Nong Bon subdistrict, Prawet district, Bangkok, following complaints that it was a gathering place for youth.
The location is a single-story building with live music and a DJ playing lively music near a shopping mall. Upon inspection, there were 65 people including customers and staff. Officials checked IDs and conducted urine tests on everyone. Results showed 45 patrons were under 20 years old: 29 aged 18-20 (15 males, 14 females) and 16 under 18 (5 males, 11 females). Additionally, drug use was detected in eight patrons: six adults (four males, two females) and two under 20 (both males).
There was also alcohol sales beyond the legally permitted hours. The establishment operated as a restaurant but had altered its premises and services to function as a nightlife venue without authorization. Authorities had previously arrested the owner.
At 11:00 on 27 July 2026, at Bang Yi Khan Police Station, Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, Metropolitan Police Chief, stated he has ordered the commander of Metropolitan Police Division 5 to set up a committee to investigate the matter. Results are expected within 2-3 days. If any negligence or involvement is found, disciplinary action will be taken against the five senior officers responsible.
He acknowledged that police have been cooperating with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and district offices to intensify inspections of entertainment venues citywide every night, aiming to prevent incidents like the case at Ladprao Brewery. However, given the large number of venues, only 2-3 locations per district can be checked each night. Regarding this nightclub, 191 Police was instructed to act as liaison for public complaints, to inspect the venue and verify the reports. Upon confirming the complaints, arrests were made. He emphasized that 191 Police’s involvement was by his order and that there was no conflict with Phra Khanong Police Station.
The owner has been charged with negligence for allowing patrons under 20, operating an unauthorized entertainment venue, and presence of drugs on the premises. The matter of shutting down the venue is currently under consideration.
