In the case where the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), through the Crime Suppression Division, conducted a raid on a hotel in Nonthaburi Province used as a base by a grey capital foreign group illegally running a gambling den, drug use and sales, they arrested four suspects: one Chinese and three Myanmar nationals, along with seizing a large amount of evidence, as previously reported.
Most recently, on 27 July 2026 at Immigration Division 3 headquarters, Pol. Col. Prinya Klinkesorn, Deputy Commander of Immigration Division 3 and spokesperson, revealed that in 2023 immigration officers had previously raided this location, arresting over 40 gamblers, both Thai and foreign, before the hotel temporarily closed for renovations.
Following the arrests, Nonthaburi Immigration promptly coordinated with investigators to verify information on the foreign suspects and has submitted a proposal to revoke the residence permit of the Chinese suspect, Mr. Liu Chao, age 33, and plans to propose blacklisting him to prevent re-entry into Thailand.
The Myanmar suspects were arrested for "illegal entry and residence in the kingdom" and will face action under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979) and related laws, including deportation and consideration of blacklisting measures according to legal procedures.
It is affirmed that the government's policy prioritizes stimulating the economy and promoting tourism by welcoming quality tourists into the kingdom to build confidence and foster a positive image of Thailand; however, any foreign individual found violating laws or involved in criminal organizations will face strict legal action.
This operation aligns with the policy of Pol. Lt. Gen. Panumat Boonlaksam, Commander of the Immigration Bureau, who has instructed all units to intensify screening, enforcement, and legal action against foreigners engaged in criminal activities or threats to national security, especially targeting transnational crime, grey capital groups, and those using Thailand as a base for all types of offenses.
Nevertheless, any criminal acts will be dealt with strictly, and the public is encouraged to report any information or tips about illegal activities to the Immigration Office.
