On 27 July 2026 at 1:30 p.m., Pol. Maj. Gen. Chokchai Ngamwong, Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 2, traveled to Nong Prue Police Station to follow up on the mysterious death of 64-year-old Nathavee Sukantarun, a former Thai national tennis player, found deceased inside his residence at Soi Thungklom-Tanman 25, Chonburi Province.
Present at the meeting were Pol. Col. Wasurat Chaitheerapat, Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Natthaphon Phongsuksakul, Chief of Nong Prue Police Station, along with deputy commanders and relevant investigation and interrogation officers.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Chokchai Ngamwong, Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 2, stated after the meeting with the investigative teams from Chonburi Provincial Police and Nong Prue Police Station that the case has made significant progress. However, as the incident occurred on the night of 25 July, full details cannot yet be disclosed to avoid compromising the investigation.
Authorities have been continuously collecting evidence, including witness interviews, environmental examination, and forensic evidence, enabling them to identify a group of suspects for further investigation.

Regarding arrest warrants, the Deputy Commissioner noted that they are still gathering evidence to confirm the perpetrators and have not yet issued any warrants.

Investigators uncovered key evidence showing that at 4:00 a.m. on 26 July, around the time of the victim's death, a bank transfer of 30,000 baht was made via a banking app on an iPad. The recipient is a Myanmar migrant worker who recently resigned from working at the victim's badminton court. Police are currently tracking this individual for questioning about possible involvement.
