At 07:00 on 28 July 2026, Police Colonel Thatsakorn Kontong, Chief of Bang Bua Thong Police Station, received a report of two fatalities and four injuries (including the perpetrator) from gunshots. The incident took place at Village No. 2, near Lam Ree Shrine Alley, Laharn Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province. Police, volunteers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation, and forensic doctors promptly arrived to investigate.
At the scene, a two-story detached house was found. In front of the door lay the first deceased, Mr. Sanga Mianmaen, 71, wearing a blue tank top and brown sarong, face down in a pool of blood. A short distance away was the second deceased, Mrs. Suda Mianmaen, 74, dressed in a long-sleeve red floral shirt and a pink patterned skirt, lying on her back in a pool of blood. The two were husband and wife.
Additionally, three others were injured. The perpetrator was identified as Mr. Anek Wanaleo, or Bang Sid, approximately 59 years old, a former bank manager. The village headman restrained him by tying his hands while awaiting the police. He was injured and under initial examination.
Ms. Narisara Mianmaen, daughter of the deceased, stated that at 06:30, Mr. Anek came to the house and a verbal argument ensued. The perpetrator then used a firearm to shoot Mr. Sanga and Mrs. Suda, killing them, and injured Ms. Ampa, Mr. Sakrin, and Ms. Srarin. Police detained the perpetrator, who was injured and taken to the hospital by rescue workers.
Mr. Pichai, a male relative of the deceased female, said the incident stemmed from a dispute over the entrance and exit to the house, a long-standing issue lasting over 10 years between the deceased couple and the perpetrator. The perpetrator wanted to expand the area, but the deceased refused. Upon learning of this, he went to the scene as they lived nearby. Including the perpetrator, four people were injured. He did not expect such a violent outcome. He had concerns the unresolved problem might lead to conflict but never expected fatalities. He has known the perpetrator since childhood; they often visited each other, and the perpetrator is a nephew of his mother.
