Authorities have intensified a comprehensive search. Recently, Pol. Col. Warawut Nittayawan, Superintendent of Huay Yai Police Station, Anusak Piriyamorn, District Chief of Bang Lamung, along with police, local officials, village heads, rescue teams, and over 200 residents, conducted a comprehensive search in the old cemetery area at Thung Luang near Chak Taeng intersection, Huay Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, where the siblings’ motorcycle was found.
Regarding the dismantled and buried motorcycle, initial findings show that the perpetrator dug holes and dismantled the motorcycle into two locations. The first site contained the shock absorber, front and rear wheels, engine, and some body parts. The second site, about 100 meters away, contained the frame, seat, handlebars, and some body panels. The Chonburi Forensic Science Division inspected and collected evidence thoroughly.
Mr. Nipon Chatsri, assistant village head of Village 9, revealed that a suspect named "Mr. Pong," seen previously in video footage, was recently released from prison two months ago. Since his release, locals have been fearful as Mr. Pong is considered dangerous and habitually carries weapons. He is believed to be involved in this case.
Additionally, on 28 July, villagers confirmed seeing "Mr. Thong," a close friend of Mr. Pong, digging soil from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. The next morning, both Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong were seen together at the location, but upon seeing authorities, they fled in different directions.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lek (a pseudonym), 24, told reporters that over the past one or two nights, gunshots were heard about 500 meters from the motorcycle burial site. The sounds were of multiple rapid shots, but it is unclear whether this is related to the case.
At 4:00 p.m., police from Huay Yai Police Station, tourist police, and Bang Lamung district officials raided a house in Village 11, Huay Yai Subdistrict, after reports indicated that Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong were hiding there. However, the suspects were not found upon inspection.
The homeowner reported that Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong returned to the house around 10 a.m. on 26 July (the day the siblings disappeared), both dirty from soil. No questions were asked, and they stayed only about an hour before leaving.
Mr. Thong’s girlfriend revealed that he disappeared on 28 July. She said she was unaware of the incident’s details, as he did not inform her before disappearing. She does not know if he was involved but confirmed he has been missing and unreachable since then without prior notice.
The aunt of Mr. Pong, one of the suspects, told reporters visiting Mr. Pong’s home about 1 km from where the motorcycle parts were found that the house is on his land. Since his release from prison in June, he had only visited 2-3 times, most recently on 27 July. He came in the evening to help fix the house's electrical wiring but failed and left, claiming he was going to visit his wife and child in Chanthaburi Province.
The aunt added that police have visited multiple times, informing her that Mr. Pong is a suspect in the disappearance of the two Russian siblings. She personally believes her nephew is involved due to his longstanding bad behavior, including previous juvenile detention and multiple prison terms as an adult.
She further described Mr. Pong as violent, possibly because he was abused as a child—beaten and burned with fire and electric shocks by his father—leading her to raise him herself. However, he never dared harm her as she cared for him from a young age. She believes it will be difficult for him to reform because he has been delinquent since childhood.
Today, she asked police whether they intended to arrest or kill her nephew. Authorities said if he resists, they would use lethal force immediately. She has come to terms with this and said she only wants to know whether Mr. Pong will be imprisoned or killed. If imprisoned, she will visit him; if killed, she will arrange his funeral if she can afford it. She emphasized that she has resigned herself to her nephew's fate as he has caused her ongoing distress and she has already exhausted her support for him, leaving the rest to fate.
