Authorities have arrested “Pong” and “Thong,” the two main suspects who jointly buried the motorcycles of two missing Russian siblings in Pattaya, Chonburi Province. The suspects claim the victims have died before their bodies were buried on a mountain to conceal the crime.
Police are urgently investigating the mysterious disappearance of Diana Nazimova, 22, and Roman Nazimov, 17, two Russian siblings, along with their black-gray Honda ADV 150 motorcycle, license plate 4 กษ 6379 Chonburi, since early morning on 26 July. Recently, the motorcycle was found buried in an old cemetery in Thung Luang near Chak Taeng intersection, Village 9, Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. The motorcycle had been dismantled with parts and frame buried separately. Investigators found clues pointing to suspects, former convicts recently released from prison. Police raided their hideout, but the suspects escaped. The fate of the Russian siblings remains unknown.
Subsequently, investigators at Huai Yai Police Station gathered evidence and obtained arrest warrants from Pattaya Provincial Court for Thana, also known as Pong, 43, and Thongchai, also known as Thong Srinil, 39, close friends who jointly buried the Russian siblings’ motorcycle parts in the old cemetery in Thung Luang, Village 9, Huai Yai Subdistrict. They face charges of joint nighttime theft using a vehicle and receiving stolen goods. Police promptly pursued and attempted to arrest them but found no trace.
At approximately 16:00 on 31 July 2026, reporters noted that Sa Kaeo Provincial Police coordinated with the Burapha Task Force, military units, local administration, and volunteers to set up checkpoints and roadblocks in high-risk areas, especially along the borders of Aranyaprathet District, Khok Sung District, and adjacent border zones, to prevent illegal escape from the country.
Additionally, police instructed key stations including Wang Sombun, Wang Nam Yen, Khao Chakan, Mueang Sa Kaeo, Watthana Nakhon, Nong Mak Fai, Khok Sung, Ban Thap Thai, and Ta Phraya to collaborate with security agencies, community leaders, and civil forces to monitor natural routes, secondary roads, and vulnerable areas that might be used for escape.
Most recently, Pol. Lt. Gen. Chatchai Surachetphong, Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, together with Pol. Col. Jaturaphat Singhasthit, Deputy Commander of Sa Kaeo Provincial Police, led forces to arrest Thana, aka “Pong,” and Thongchai, aka “Thong,” suspects wanted by Pattaya Provincial Court for joint nighttime theft using a vehicle and receiving stolen goods. They were apprehended in Wang Sombun District, Sa Kaeo Province, after fleeing from Chonburi to Chanthaburi and then to Sa Kaeo.
The police took both suspects for preliminary questioning at Wang Sombun Police Station to expand the investigation and determine the whereabouts of the missing Russian siblings, who have now been missing for six days.
According to reports, during parts of the interrogation, Thongchai claimed to investigators that the two Russian siblings are deceased, having been shot, and that their bodies were buried on a mountain by Thana, or Pong.
