At 18:45 on 31 July 2026, after police arrested Mr. Thana, known as "Pong," and Mr. Thongchai, known as "Thong," suspects wanted by Pattaya Provincial Court for nighttime vehicle theft and receiving stolen goods, in Wang Sombun district, Sa Kaeo province, they were taken in for detailed questioning.
Mr. Pong and Mr. Thongchai confessed to killing two Russian siblings whom they did not know, intending only to steal a motorcycle. During questioning, Pong admitted he led the burial of the bodies on a hill beside Highway 7 (Motorway) Bangkok - Map Ta Phut at kilometer marker 139, locally called Map Fak Thong hill, within the area of Wat Yan Sangwararam Woramahawihan, Village 11, Huay Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province.
Following this statement, police, district officials from Bang Lamung, and rescue volunteers inspected the site specified by the suspect. They coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct a thorough search and forensic examination to process the bodies according to legal procedures.
In addition, authorities are gathering further evidence to expand the investigation to all involved parties, including examining motives and the sequence of events in detail.
However, reports indicate that beyond investigating the two missing Russian victims, officials have received information suggesting that three additional bodies may be buried at the same location. This information is still under verification.
