The aunt of "Ai Pong" brought food during a visit and openly refused to seek bail for her nephew. She acknowledged that her nephew had been subjected to violence by his biological father since childhood, which may have contributed to his aggressive behavior. She also stated she was unaware of any influential backing behind him.
In the case involving the murder and burial of two Russian siblings in Huay Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, Mr. Thana, or "Pong," aged 43, and Mr. Thongchai, or "Thong," aged 39, have confessed. Mr. Thong further admitted to prior similar crimes involving three family members, claiming robbery as the motive. Authorities led them to the burial site, located not far from where the Russian siblings were buried, where all three bodies were found. These matched previously reported missing persons cases, as previously reported.
This morning (1 Aug), Ms. Nuploy, 74, the aunt of Mr. Pong, brought two boxes of stir-fried basil with fried eggs and two bottles of water to visit Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong. She opened up about the life of her nephew, whom she had raised since infancy after his biological mother entrusted him to her care, leading him to call her “mother.”
The aunt recounted that Mr. Pong's biological father frequently used violence against him from an early age, including beating him with electrical wires, administering electric shocks, and once throwing him onto a roof when he was less than one year old. She believes these childhood experiences may have contributed to her nephew’s aggressive behavior, having grown up surrounded by violence and having faced several legal prosecutions resulting in imprisonment.
She also stated that despite her deep love for her nephew, she will not seek bail this time, believing that release would not change his behavior. She is prepared to accept the maximum punishment if the justice system imposes it and said that if she is still alive, she will visit him, but if she is gone, then everything must follow its course.
Regarding rumors that Mr. Pong has influential backers or supporters, the aunt firmly stated that she is unaware of any such matters.
Additionally, the aunt expressed sorrow over the incident but said that if any apology to the victims' families is to be made, it should come from Mr. Pong himself. She concluded by saying she does not understand how her nephew could commit such violent acts, given the multiple cases involving the victims as reported, calling the situation very cruel.
