The Royal Thai Police Chief signed an order permitting Pol. Lt. Gen. Taweesin, former chief doctor of the Police Hospital, to resign from service effective 1 August 2026.
On 1 August 2026, reporters reported that on 27 July 2026, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, the Police Chief, issued Royal Thai Police Office Order No. 341/2569 regarding permission for a police officer to resign from service.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Taweesin Vejvitharan, chief doctor (Level 8), requested to resign from service to pursue a personal professional career starting 1 August. Under the authority of Sections 105 and 315 of the National Police Act B.E. 2565 (2022) and the Royal Police Regulation on Police Officers’ Resignation B.E. 2566 (2023), permission was granted for Pol. Lt. Gen. Taweesin Vejvitharan to resign effective 1 August.
Additional reports state that on 29 July, the fact-finding committee chaired by Pol. Gen. Kornchai Klayklung, Deputy Police Chief, unanimously concluded that Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Taweesin Vejvitharan violated ethical standards as per the Medical Council’s investigation regarding Case No. 14 at the Police Hospital. They recommended establishing a serious disciplinary investigation committee. Subsequently, the Police Chief signed to appoint this disciplinary committee, chaired by Pol. Gen. Itthipol Atchariyapradit, the National Police Inspector General.
