On 1 Aug 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that investigators from Huay Yai Police Station brought Mr. Thana, or Pong, 43, and Mr. Thongchai, or Thong, 39, suspects number 1 and 2, for their first detention hearing at Pattaya Provincial Court. The case involves the murder of two Russian siblings, case number F.596/2566, with charges including premeditated murder to gain benefits or to cover up other offenses, nighttime robbery, impersonation of police officers with firearms, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
The court ordered denial of temporary release because the suspects were arrested under warrants, the case carries severe penalties, and the circumstances are serious. Additionally, the investigator objected, fearing the suspects might flee if granted bail, resulting in dismissal of the request.
Meanwhile, Huay Yai Police also brought Mr. Thana (Pong), Mr. Thongchai (Thong), Mr. Atsadang Chuwong, 25, and Mr. Chatchanan Paen-iam, 23, suspects 1 to 4, for their first detention hearing at Pattaya Provincial Court in the case of burying three family members—a father, mother, and child—case number F.597/2566. Charges include premeditated murder for benefits or to cover up other crimes, nighttime robbery, impersonation of police officers, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
The court again denied temporary release due to the case’s severe penalties, serious circumstances, and the investigator’s objection fearing flight risk, thus dismissing the request.
