Authorities are pursuing the suspect who opened fire loudly at Bueng Thong Lang Temple's funeral hall, resulting in one death and two injuries before fleeing on a motorcycle.
At approximately 17:25 on 1 August 2026, Lat Phrao Police, along with Siam Ruamjai rescue units and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, were notified of a shooting in front of the funeral hall at Bueng Thong Lang Temple, Lat Phrao district, Bangkok, during a Buddhist prayer ceremony.
At the scene, one person was found dead and two others were wounded by gunfire to their right and left legs. Rescue volunteers urgently transported the injured to Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital for treatment.
Initial investigation and leads at the scene indicate the suspect is a man wearing a black shirt, approximately 160 centimeters tall with long hair. After brazenly committing the act, he fled rapidly on a blue Honda Forza motorcycle without a known license plate.
Currently, Lat Phrao Police, forensic officers, and rescue volunteers have secured and sealed the area to collect evidence and examine bullet trajectories. Investigators are coordinating to review CCTV footage along the suspected escape routes to swiftly track down and prosecute the shooter.
