The Royal Thai Police honors two brave officers from Tak Bai Police Station who died while on duty, providing initial benefits exceeding 3 million baht to their families, along with special promotions to the rank of Police Major General.
On 3 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, stated that the Royal Thai Police and Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet express deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of two officers from Tak Bai Police Station, Narathiwat Province—Police Corporal Witthaya Chaipromkaew and Senior Police Corporal Amran Ha—who died during a search operation in the area.
At the same time, the Police Chief sent his concern and encouragement to four other officers from Tak Bai Police Station injured in the incident: Police Lieutenant Kittipong Srikham, Police Corporal Pannakit Srinakitja, Police Corporal Wannuchit Saeko, and Police Senior Corporal Traithot Kulsantawasiri. They are currently receiving treatment at Narathiwat Rajanagarindra Hospital. The Royal Thai Police is closely overseeing their medical care to ensure the best support.
The Royal Thai Police spokesperson revealed that the Police Chief ordered urgent attention to welfare and the consideration of special promotions and benefits according to official regulations, aiming to boost morale for police officers and the heirs of the deceased, as well as for officers injured while dutifully serving as guardians of public peace.
The Royal Thai Police provided initial benefits amounting to 3,278,560 baht to the family of Police Corporal Witthaya Chaipromkaew and 3,079,130 baht to the family of Senior Police Corporal Amran Ha. Both officers received special merit-based promotions with salary increases of up to 10 steps and were posthumously promoted to the rank of Police Major General.
For Police Corporal Wannuchit Saeko and Police Senior Corporal Traithot Kulsantawasiri, who sustained serious injuries, the Royal Thai Police provided initial benefits totaling 272,000 baht. Police Lieutenant Kittipong Srikham and Police Corporal Pannakit Srinakitja, who were less seriously injured, received initial benefits totaling 32,000 baht. The Royal Thai Police will continue to provide full welfare and benefits according to applicable regulations.
