The family of three victims who were buried alive traveled to collect the bodies for religious rites, with cremation scheduled for 8 Aug 2026. They admitted they still cannot come to terms with the incident and insisted the suspect must receive the death penalty.
On 4 August 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Forensic Institute of the Police Hospital, Mr. Krisada Chatin, 36, nephew of the father, mother, and child victims who were murdered and buried in Huay Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, came to collect the three bodies to take them for religious rites at Khao Boonmee Dararam Temple (Thung Kha Temple) in Chonburi Province.
Mr. Krisada revealed that Ms. Chantana, one of the deceased, was his aunt. Today he was assigned by the family to collect the bodies to hold the funeral wake, which is scheduled for 3-4 nights, with cremation on 8 August.
So far, the family cannot come to terms with what happened. It is beyond forgiveness for the perpetrators because their behavior was inhumanly brutal. Especially Mr. Pong, who was released only two months ago and then committed five murders. He deserves the death penalty only.
He also said he knew the suspect because he was from the local area near his home. Although not close, he was aware of his past behavior as a troublemaker who liked to carry a gun to threaten villagers. However, he did not know if the police protected him or if he was connected to police officers.
Regarding the suspect previously wearing a cloak or vest resembling police uniform, locals knew well that he was not a real policeman. During the detention hearing, he had a chance to face Mr. Pong, the suspect. He looked at him and said, “You will definitely be executed.” The suspect recognized him, lowered his head, and apologized.
Concerning the local police work at Huay Yai Police Station, when the missing persons report was filed on 7 July, the police neglected the case, failing to promptly investigate the residence or leads seriously until a major tragedy occurred. However, the family said they do not hold any grudges and have already discussed the matter with the police.
Regarding the two Russian siblings’ bodies, their parents traveled to view and provide DNA samples for comparison since the afternoon of 3 August. They authorized Asia One International Co., Ltd. to manage the bodies, which will be taken for ceremonies at Klong Toey Temple before their remains will be returned to Russia for further religious rites.
It was reported that on the afternoon of 3 August, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner of Police, urgently ordered the investigation team at Thonglor Police Station to take the ex-girlfriend of “Mr. Pong” from the program "Hon Krasae" for detailed questioning as a key witness in the case. The interrogation lasted more than four hours, and afterward, no comments or details were given to the media. The investigators will expedite gathering all evidence and prepare a thorough case file before handing it over to Huay Yai Police Station to proceed with additional charges against “Ai Pong” based on the evidence and facts that emerge.
