The DSI has announced seven serious charges against “Film-Phawat” and associates in an online trading inducement case. They were released without bail, with plans to prosecute a total of 47 individuals.
On 4 August 2026, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) issued a press release stating that on 3 August, the DSI charged individuals with public fraud and money laundering related to online asset trading investments, also known as the Forex case. The Special Technology and Information Case Division of the DSI conducted summons proceedings for Mr. Phawat (surname withheld), Mr. Ratthapoom (surname withheld), Mr. Puritat (surname withheld), and Mr. Thanakorn (surname withheld) to acknowledge charges concerning inducement to invest in online asset trading.
All four individuals attended the investigation to acknowledge the charges. The DSI's special investigation team charged them with offenses including jointly borrowing money through public fraud, jointly committing public fraud, jointly conducting securities brokerage business without a license, jointly operating futures contract business without authorization or registration, jointly inputting false data into computer systems that could harm the public, conspiring to commit money laundering, and jointly laundering money.
Regarding case proceedings, the special investigation officers plan to prosecute a total of 47 accused persons. At this stage, summons have been issued to Mr. Phawat, Mr. Ratthapoom, Mr. Puritat, and Mr. Thanakorn, with a total of 10 individuals having been summoned so far to acknowledge charges.
After filing charges, the special investigation officers released all four suspects without requiring bail to allow them the opportunity to gather evidence and exercise their legal rights to prove the facts and demonstrate their innocence. The filing of charges is only one step in the investigation process. The accused retain their legal rights and are presumed innocent until a final court verdict declares otherwise.
