On 5 August 2026, reporters visited Huay Yai Police Station in Chonburi Province following observations that some photos of police officers on the personnel board were missing. It was uncertain if the photos had been removed long ago, as sticky glue marks suggested they were recently taken down.
Today, reporters re-examined the situation and questioned police officers at the station, learning that the photos in question belonged to a corporal who transferred out last year. He requested a transfer to the northeast, his hometown, and this had no relation to the "Pong" case.
Observation showed some missing photos belonged to an officer who is still working at the station and nearing retirement. Newer boards still display his photos as usual. Officials explained that the board in question is old, making it unlikely anyone intentionally removed photos; rather, the glue likely expired causing them to fall off.
Additionally, they checked officers whose names start with the letter “S” (2 officers) and “W” (3 officers), all assigned to enforcement duties. There were no details indicating any knew Mr. Pong. The station also denied any knowledge of a retired sergeant whose name starts with “S” who left service long ago.
