Cyber police from Investigation Unit 4, Division 4, raided the TH2.VIP gambling website, which had secretly set up a base hidden within a community in Mae Sot district, Tak province, and arrested a Myanmar national acting as the site's administrator.
On 5 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Suraphol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Commander attached to the Royal Thai Police Office serving at the Cyber Crime Bureau, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Kritat Bamrungrattanayot, Commander of Division 4, directed Pol. Col. Anucha Srisamrong, Chief of Investigation Unit 2, Division 4, with support from Pol. Lt. Col. Weerapol Kanthawong, Deputy Chief of Unit 2, Pol. Lt. Col. Anekthinakorn, Deputy Chief of Unit 2, and Pol. Lt. Jirath Chan-yen, Investigator of Unit 2, to lead the operation.
They deployed forces along with Mae Sot Provincial Court authorization to search a house in Village 3, Tha Sai Luat subdistrict, Mae Sot district, Tak province, arresting Mr. Uei Ku Mi, 23, a Myanmar national, and seized one computer, two laptops, two mobile phones, and one router as evidence.
The Investigation Unit 4 found that the TH2.VIP website has over 30,000 members, has operated for more than 2 years, and handles an average monthly turnover exceeding 30 million baht, or over 360 million baht annually. It illegally offered online gambling services including international football betting, lotteries, slots, baccarat, dragon tiger, hi-lo, pok deng, and various other gambling types.
Payments for online gambling were made through an automatic bank account transfer system. Withdrawals could be requested directly via the website. Site administrators assisted or acted on behalf of the website, handling issues such as registration problems, financial transactions, and advising or encouraging participation in the website’s online gambling services.
After investigation, authorities discovered this gambling website had secretly established a base hidden within a community in Mae Sot district, Tak province. They gathered evidence and obtained a court warrant to search the residence and arrest the offender with seized evidence earlier this morning.
During interrogation, Mr. Uei Ku Mi admitted he had rented the house to serve as the website's administrator for over five months, responding to customer inquiries about online gambling and coordinating operational tasks such as addressing issues with deposits and withdrawals. He received a monthly salary of 15,000 baht from his employer.
Police pressed charges for "conspiring to advertise or directly or indirectly encourage others to participate in unauthorized online gambling," and "conspiring to organize or facilitate unauthorized online gambling," then handed the suspect and seized evidence over to Mae Sot Police Station to proceed with legal action.
