At one site where the scanner detected suspicious signals, excavation revealed only a rock. Officers then expanded inspections to nearby areas to confirm, ultimately verifying all examined sites.
Regarding future search plans, the Police Chief of Region 2 stated there are no current plans for further excavations unless new credible leads or evidence point to suspicious locations. Authorities will continue investigations, evidence gathering, and reviewing historical data.
Addressing criticism about the late start of scanning nearly a week after the incident, Pol. Lt. Gen. Chatichai explained that officials prioritized other evidence collection and waited for appropriate tools to ensure effective searches. Excavating all areas without proper equipment would require more manpower and time. He confirmed investigations have continued without interruption during this period.
Concerning the Russian victims' burial site, no additional excavation is planned now. Decisions will depend on new leads, ground and grass conditions, and expert opinions. Excavation will proceed only if credible reasons arise.
Additionally, Pol. Lt. Gen. Chatichai said his visit to Huai Yai Police Station today aimed to review case progress and inspect officers' work during the excavation process.
Regarding the donation of CCTV cameras by 'Gun Jomphalang' to support police work, the Police Chief of Region 2 expressed gratitude. The cameras will be installed at key locations to enhance investigation efficiency, as the area is large and existing coverage incomplete. He emphasized that CCTV from both public and private sources plays a vital role in tracking suspects and resolving cases.
