Mr. Arm, the older brother of the 14-year-old boy, revealed that his younger brother, a third-year secondary student, is currently undergoing surgery at Phra Nang Klao Hospital.
At the time of the incident, he received a message from a friend saying there was a shooting at their former school, which is the school his younger brother attends. Concerned, he called his brother, who answered and said, "I've already been shot. That's all for now. I can't breathe."
The injured boy's father added that his son was the first to call him, saying, "I've been shot, I can't breathe, but it's okay, I'm still strong," before being rushed to the hospital.
Regarding the latest condition, doctors took him into surgery around 14:00 GMT+7 to urgently remove a bullet from his left chest. The doctors are especially concerned because the wound is near a major blood vessel and involved a second gunshot, requiring a large amount of blood for surgery alongside other patients. Blood donations have temporarily been closed and will reopen on Monday.
The family's mental state has slightly improved after receiving information from the doctors and having the chance to watch over the boy, who remains somewhat conscious and responsive through eye contact.
The injured boy's older brother confirmed that his brother never had any conflicts or enemies at school and regularly participated in marching band rehearsals after classes. The guidance counselor who died in the incident was known to be kind and gentle, not harsh or aggressive.
