
Deputy Minister of Interior Pol. Maj. Gen. Phonphir Suwannachawi led a special operations team from the Department of Provincial Administration to raid an illegal nightclub in central Chachoengsao. The venue allowed under-20s to enter, drugs were scattered on the floor, and over 30 tested positive for narcotics. The business owner is a local village headman who claims several government officials are partners in the business.
At 01:30 on 8 August 2026, Deputy Minister of Interior Pol. Maj. Gen. Phonphir Suwannachawi, along with Mr. Ronarong Thipsiri, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, Police Sub-Lieutenant Singkham Kamyod, Director of the Investigation and Legal Affairs Bureau, Mr. Ruanglak Ruangyangmee, Director of the Directorate of Volunteer Defense Corps, and Mr. Sakchai Rojanarat, Director of the Law Enforcement Operations Center for Administrative Officers, led the Department of Provincial Administration's special operations team (DOPA S.W.A.T.) in cooperation with Chachoengsao provincial administration and Muang Chachoengsao district officials.
Under the direction of Ms. Chatpraorn Niyom, Governor of Chachoengsao province; Mr. Prasit Intachot and Mr. Boontham Thawornthatsanakit, Deputy Governors; Mr. Peeraphon Loola, Chachoengsao provincial clerk; and the Muang Chachoengsao district administration led by Mr. Pratravee Wichop, the district chief, the operation was integrated with Muang Chachoengsao police station.
They raided a well-known nightclub in central Chachoengsao named 90's Bar & Restaurant, located on Thep Khunakon Road, Na Mueang subdistrict, Muang district, Chachoengsao province.
Upon arrival, officials found many patrons inside the establishment. They identified themselves and conducted a search, separating males and females to screen for suspicious individuals. They discovered over 40 underage youths under 20 years old using the facility. Additionally, some visitors were caught discarding ice methamphetamine and yaba (methamphetamine pills) on the floor to conceal evidence. Urine tests detected narcotics in over 30 males and females.
Officials also searched a secret area on the building's second floor, which housed nearly ten karaoke rooms available for patrons to continue entertainment after leaving the nightclub downstairs.
Deputy Minister of Interior Pol. Maj. Gen. Phonphir Suwannachawi stated that the raid was conducted after receiving complaints from Muang Chachoengsao district about groups of youths frequently gathering at this venue. Authorities were dispatched to investigate before carrying out the arrest operation.
It was initially found that the establishment operated without a license. The individual claiming to own the business is the village headman of Khlong Preng subdistrict, Muang district, Chachoengsao. He also claimed to have several government officials as business partners. The Deputy Minister of Interior ordered the administration to prosecute all involved without exception and to prepare to close the establishment immediately.
