In Sa Kaeo, administrative officials joined forces with military personnel to seize smuggled cigarettes along the border in Fak Huai Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District. They later found a suspicious vehicle abandoned in a palm forest, fully loaded with untaxed cigarettes.
At 9:00 p.m. on 7 August 2026, Mr. Nirut Khongkoet, District Chief Officer for Security, along with Mr. Wasan Dusit, headman of Fak Huai Subdistrict, village headmen (from villages 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8), and assistant village headmen (from villages 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11) jointly coordinated with rapid deployment military units and the Burapha Task Force to patrol and prevent illegal activities along the border.
During the operation, the team detected a group of suspicious vehicles smuggling untaxed goods near the rear of Bung Khaen Village, Village 6, Fak Huai Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The officials expanded their search using an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) to patrol the nearby area. They eventually found a suspicious vehicle from the same operation abandoned in a palm forest and upon inspection, discovered it fully loaded with untaxed cigarettes.
The administrative team coordinated with officials from the Excise Department to jointly inspect and record the seizure of all evidence. The confiscated goods were then delivered to investigators at Aranyaprathet Police Station for further investigation and to pursue legal action against the perpetrators.
