At 12:00 on 8 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wirul Supasinghiripreecha, Commander of the Police Hospital Forensic Institute, announced preliminary autopsy findings on the eight deceased from the shooting. All bodies have been received: five died at the school, two at the shooter's home, and the 14-year-old shooter died at Bang Kruai Hospital.
The autopsies found all eight victims were shot, with wounds ranging from one to four bullets. Six victims had a single gunshot wound, while two had three and four wounds respectively.
Most wounds were located in vital areas such as the head and chest, positions that can cause death. Some victims also had wounds on their arms.
Regarding the 14-year-old shooter, a bullet entered the right side of his head and exited without the bullet remaining inside. Gunpowder residue was found at the wound, indicating the gun barrel was close to the skin when fired.
On the question of whether the boy was extrajudicially killed, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wirul stated that the autopsy confirms gunshot wounds consistent with the weapon used. However, conclusions about extrajudicial killing must await the evidence collection and final report by the investigators.
The commander added that most bullets in the victims passed completely through the body; only one bullet was found lodged inside. Tests for substances in the shooter's body are still underway.
The autopsy process is now complete, and bodies are being released gradually to families who have completed paperwork. It is expected that if families proceed today, all bodies can be taken for religious ceremonies.
