The father of "Teacher Phong," a victim of the shooting at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi, has decided to sell his entire herd of cattle at a low price after losing the strength to continue raising them. The body is expected to arrive in their hometown this evening.
At 10:00 a.m. on 7 Aug 2026, a shooting occurred inside Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi, resulting in deaths and injuries. The perpetrator was a Grade 9 student who later took his own life. Among the deceased was a man from Sisaket province, Mr. Kittiphong Somrat, known as Teacher Phong, Deputy Director of Student Affairs at Thepsirin School.
Recently, Mr. Wittaya Prasarakang, a local councilor in Kantharom municipality and brother-in-law of Teacher Phong, revealed that today Teacher Phong’s father and family decided to sell the entire herd of 12 cattle. They no longer have the strength to continue raising the cattle after losing Teacher Phong.
Previously, the family planned to sell the 12 cattle for 300,000 baht. However, after experiencing the tragedy of the school shooting and losing a family member, Teacher Phong’s father lacks the strength to care for the herd and therefore sold them at a reduced price of 220,000 baht. The family wants the father to rest, understanding that he is grieving deeply and exhausted from losing his only son in this shooting incident.
Meanwhile, Teacher Phong’s body is expected to arrive in their hometown this evening. Tomorrow (8 Aug 2026), a royal bathing ceremony for the deceased will be held for the family. His Majesty King Rama X will be the patron of the three-night Buddhist prayer ceremony before the cremation, scheduled for Wednesday, 12 August 2026, at Ban Kantharom Noi Temple, Kantharom Subdistrict, Khun Han District, Sisaket Province.
