Chalong Riewrang, a former well-known MP, was detained after allegedly shooting Pol.Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, Chief of Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, at the Nonthaburi PAO building within the Nonthaburi provincial hall. Latest reports confirm the victim has died.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., reporters reported multiple gunshots inside the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization building located within the Nonthaburi provincial hall, resulting in two injuries. Among the injured was Pol.Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, Chief of Nonthaburi PAO. Rescue teams transported the injured to Phra Nang Klao Hospital, where Pol.Col. Thongchai later died.
The suspect was Chalong Riewrang, a former Nonthaburi MP. Reports state that after the shooting, Chalong hailed a motorcycle taxi and called Ms. Anchalee Pairirak, known as "Jae Pong," while she was hosting a program. She persuaded him to remain calm, put down the gun, and wait for the police without moving around. She also instructed staff to notify Rattanathibet police station. The police then apprehended him and took him in for further questioning.
