Later, police took Mr. Chalong Riwrang, the former well-known MP, into custody after he shot Pol.Col. Thongchai Yenprasert at the Nonthaburi PAO building inside the Nonthaburi City Hall. The victim has since been reported deceased.
Additional reports stated that after the shooting, Mr. Chalong called Ms. Anchalee Pairirak while she was live on the Naewna program. Ms. Anchalee said she would call back later because she was broadcasting live, but Mr. Chalong insisted on talking immediately, saying he had just shot Pol.Col. Thongchai.
Ms. Anchalee asked for details, and Mr. Chalong said he fired 4-5 shots before walking out of the office with the firearm. Ms. Anchalee then persuaded him to calm down, put down the gun, and wait for the police, advising him not to go anywhere because there was a school nearby. Meanwhile, Naewna staff called Rattanathibet Police.
Ms. Anchalee further recounted that Mr. Chalong said his motive was anger because he had supported everything previously, but when he demanded repayment of 11 million baht, the other party denied owing it. He then decided to shoot in the office before leaving.
