On 10 Aug 2026 GMT+7, developments emerged in the case where Chalong Riewrang, former MP for Nonthaburi, shot Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert, the Nonthaburi PAO Chief, at the Nonthaburi PAO building inside the provincial hall, as previously reported.
Recently, while being taken in for questioning, Chalong Riewrang briefly explained that he had approached Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert seeking help due to personal difficulties, but was completely refused. After the shooting, he did not know where to go until he was caught.
Nonthaburi Governor Chettha Mosikharat revealed that Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert and Chalong have known each other for a long time and share a friendship. However, this time they likely met to discuss matters that could not be agreed upon, apparently related to their personal relationship. Authorities are still investigating.
The other injured person is the driver, who was grazed by a bullet. This individual will serve as a witness to the incident but must first recover beyond the critical stage. Authorities will continue their investigation.
