The Attorney General has issued a final decision ordering no prosecution of Thanathai Narongkool, CEO of Titan Capital Group Holdings, in the money laundering case involving illegal movie streaming and online gambling websites. A letter was sent to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) instructing them to withdraw the arrest warrants, while Thanathai immediately returned to the country.
On 12 August 2026, reporters reported that on 6 August, the Special Litigation Office sent a letter notifying the Attorney General’s final decision not to prosecute Thanathai Narongkool, CEO of Titan Capital Group Holdings, along with five others. They were charged with conspiracy of two or more persons to commit money laundering and with committing money laundering offenses together. The case involved copyright infringement, illegal movie streaming websites, money laundering, and links to online gambling, with damages exceeding 4.5 billion baht. The letter was sent to the Department of Special Investigation to request withdrawal of the arrest warrants for Thanathai and his associates as per the Attorney General's final decision.
The case involves 11 suspects: Nuwat Yongyut, Sarinee Nuchnat, Thanathai Narongkool, Peeradet Sriyos, Phisitthach Premwanichdon or Pornchai Pinkham, Saranyu Somjai, Saichon Yongyut, Hemratsamee Chaising or Khemnatsawat, Pichai Chawhyapraek, Kulphat Sampao-rod, and Chaiyut Sansanaboworn.
The Attorney General's final decision ordered no prosecution for Thanathai Narongkool, the third suspect; Phisitthach Premwanichdon or Pornchai Pinkham, the fifth suspect; Hemratsamee (or Oat) Chaising or Khemnatsawat, the eighth suspect; Pichai Chawhyapraek, the ninth suspect; Kulphat Sampao-rod, the tenth suspect; and Chaiyut Sansanaboworn, the eleventh suspect. They were charged with conspiracy by two or more persons to commit money laundering and with committing money laundering offenses together through their conspiracy.
Regarding this case, previously the DSI investigators recommended prosecuting the suspects. Later, the prosecutors issued a non-prosecution order. The case was then sent to the Director-General of the Special Investigation Department, who dissented and recommended prosecution. Finally, the Attorney General recently issued a final order not to prosecute the key suspects. It was reported that Thanathai returned to Thailand around 11:00 a.m. on 11 August and was detained. The DSI investigators filed a petition to withdraw the arrest warrant before he was released.
