A commando unit tracked down and arrested a suspect wanted for a murder case who had evaded capture for nearly two years and was listed as No. 74 on the police wanted calendar. The suspect confessed during questioning.
On 12 August 2026, Pol. Col. Boonlue Phadungthin, Deputy Commander of the Patrol Division, along with Pol. Col. Nopparat Khammak, Chief of Patrol Division, and Pol. Lt. Col. Rachan Kaewkoonok, Deputy Chief of Patrol Division, led a raid on a house in Village 5, Phrai Phatthana Subdistrict, Phu Sing District, Sisaket Province, under a search warrant issued by Sisaket Provincial Court No. 84/2569 dated 10 August 2026.
They arrested Mongkol Kaewmongkol, 27, under a warrant issued by Sisaket Provincial Court No. J.458/2564 dated 19 October 2024, on charges of
"jointly murdering another person and jointly possessing firearms and ammunition without permission." The arrest took place in a room on the first floor of the house.
This arrest followed an incident on 18 October 2024 when Mongkol got into a fight with locals in a neighboring village and fatally shot a person in Sisaket Province. He then fled the area, changing hiding places multiple times to avoid arrest. He was subsequently listed as No. 74 on the National Police wanted calendar.
Later, after more than six months of investigation, the Patrol Division tracked a key lead showing the suspect had returned to hide in Phu Sing District, Sisaket Province, leading to his arrest.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to all charges. Authorities transferred him to Phu Sing Police Station for legal prosecution.
