Kamphaeng Phet – Update on the village headman driving a pickup truck drunk and hitting two teenagers, causing their deaths – the governor has ordered a severe disciplinary investigation, while the district chief has already been asked to resign after the suspect was granted bail by the court.
In the case of the village headman of Village 1, Ban Sri Faisan, Pang Thaka Subdistrict, Khanuworalaksaburi District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, who drove a pickup truck that first sideswiped a car before fleeing and colliding with a motorcycle carrying two students from the Sam To Vocational College, resulting in the deaths of a 14-year-old and a 19-year-old. The families fear they will not receive justice and have appealed to the media to report the case so it will not be ignored, while urging the police and local administrative authorities to punish the village headman involved.
Latest update on 12 Aug 2026: Mr. Chatip Rujanseri, Governor of Kamphaeng Phet, issued an order to appoint a committee to investigate severe disciplinary violations and instructed Mr. Sane Chaimongkol, the Khanuworalaksaburi district chief, to immediately suspend the village headman from duty. The district chief also required the village headman to resign immediately and to hold a new election to fill the vacant position.
Meanwhile, yesterday, Mr. Supat Sarapin, 45, the village headman, was granted bail by the court and declined to provide any information to the media.
