The Provincial Police Commander of Phatthalung has ordered the Chief of Thalenoi Police Station to return from training to locate a subordinate sergeant for investigation after he was observed exhibiting behavior resembling drug use, specifically sitting and using methamphetamine during an online training session.
According to reports circulated on social media and public pages, a police sergeant (ranked ด.ต.), identified as Sergeant A (pseudonym), who serves as a patrol unit leader at Thalenoi Police Station in Phatthalung Province, allegedly displayed drug use behavior by openly using methamphetamine during a Zoom training session. The course was titled "Enhancing the Efficiency of Police Officers at the Patrol Unit Leader to Deputy Superintendent Level" for fiscal year 2026, held on 10 August. Subsequently, the Phatthalung Provincial Police ordered the Thalenoi Police Station to establish a committee to investigate the matter thoroughly, proceeding according to their authority regarding both criminal and disciplinary offenses, as previously reported.
The latest update, dated 14 August 2026, reports that the atmosphere at Thalenoi Police Station remains quiet. Police Colonel Rangsee Manjit, Chief of Thalenoi Police Station, is still attending training, resulting in no one available to provide answers or information regarding the progress of the investigation into the sergeant's alleged drug use during the online training.
Meanwhile, Police Major General Chaowalit Liangsupong, Commander of Phatthalung Provincial Police, initially stated after learning about the incident from social media that he had ordered the Chief of Thalenoi Police Station to promptly investigate the facts. If the allegations are substantiated, strict disciplinary action will be taken. However, as of now, there have been no significant updates. Journalists attempted to contact the chief both at his office and by phone but received little information on the matter.
Recent reports indicate that Police Major General Chaowalit Liangsupong has ordered Police Colonel Rangsee Manjit, Chief of Thalenoi Police Station, to return from senior executive training to locate the sergeant in question, who is his subordinate. This follows a directive from Police Lieutenant General Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy National Police Inspector and spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, to urgently find and interrogate the sergeant as soon as possible.
