Police revealed they traced leads from sales in secret social media groups, which are considered a key source in crimes involving firearms. The suspect admitted to collecting guns and having knowledge of gun assembly, having sold several modified guns to friends.

Gen. Thinkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Sarayut Chunnawat, Commander of Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, Pol. Col. Tosak Panklinphut, Superintendent of Division 4, Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, Pol. Lt. Col. Ekarin Sannak, Deputy Superintendent of Division 4, Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, and Pol. Capt. Praphat Somwong, Analyst Officer, Division 4, Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, together with Lt. R. Kukiatt Cherdsungnoen, Deputy Sub-Inspector of Division 4, Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2,
led a raid, armed with a search warrant No. 447/2569 from Thanyaburi Provincial Court, to search a condominium unit in Soi Phahonyothin 72, Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province. They arrested 30-year-old Natthaphon Tairod, the tenant, and seized three modified blank guns adapted to fire live ammunition: two 9mm caliber and one .380 caliber, along with 10 bullets.
Pol. Col. Tosak stated that under government policy, the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau is tasked with intensively cracking down on all forms of online crime to protect the public, especially offenses related to firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
The investigation team in Division 4, Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, discovered that Natthaphon had been ordering ammunition from secret Facebook groups involved in illegal firearms and ammunition sales. After investigation, they confirmed he resided in Pathum Thani Province, collected sufficient evidence, obtained a court search warrant, and arrested him along with all seized items earlier this morning.
During interrogation, Natthaphon admitted he enjoyed collecting guns and had knowledge of gun assembly. He purchased blank guns of various preferred models and barrels online for 12,000 baht each, then assembled them to fire live ammunition. He also admitted to selling some of these guns to friends at 20,000 baht each to profit and fund new gun purchases for his collection.
He was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition without authorization. Authorities have taken him into custody and transferred him to Khu Khot Police Station to proceed with legal action.
