A 15-year-old girl reported that friends drugged her, filmed her nude, and blackmailed her for money in exchange for all the videos. Her parents, devastated by the news, quickly took her for a medical examination, fearing the clips might leak on social media platforms.
The 15-year-old girl was shocked when a mischievous friend sent photos of her passed out drunk and naked in a bathroom, where she had been sexually assaulted. Although the incident happened over three months ago, she never told anyone. The friend then blackmailed her for money, claiming to have many photos and videos. She rushed to file a police report late at night. Her parents were heartbroken upon learning the truth and accompanied their daughter to give a statement to the police, who are preparing to question six young men involved. It is suspected she may have been gang-raped or sexually assaulted.
On 19 August 2026, at Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, Mrs. Phueng (alias), 34, and Mr. Lhod (alias), 36, a couple from Udon Thani, brought their 15-year-old daughter, Ms. View (alias), to give a statement to Police Lieutenant Colonel Pichet Pakketat, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Mueang Udon Thani Police. Their daughter had reported late at night on 18 August 2026 to Deputy Inspector Narubodin Butrwang that she was sexually assaulted by a group of six male friends while unconscious from intoxication in a rented room on Jintakham Alley, Mak Khaeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Udon Thani. The incident was recorded on video.VideoThe incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on 13 May 2026. The photos were then sent to blackmail her, demanding money in exchange for all the images.
During questioning, Ms. View said she had previously studied in Bangkok with her mother but had recently moved back to Udon Thani to live with her parents around March 2026. She was attending a non-formal education program (NFE) and working part-time selling goods. She became friends with a 14-year-old girl named Ms. Nut (alias) while studying at NFE. After work, they often went out together. On 13 May 2026, she went drinking with a group of eight people, including six males, at a rented room on Jintakham Alley. They drank three shots of white liquor, after which she lost consciousness. She woke up in a male friend's room in the group. After more than three months, seeing the photos, she decided to report the incident to the police.
Mrs. Phueng said that late last night, the police called to inform her that her daughter had come to report the case at Mueang Udon Thani Police Station. She and her husband went to meet their daughter and asked what happened. Their daughter could not remember much but believed she might have been raped or gang-raped. The video she received showed only parts of her lying in the bathroom. The friend who sent the clip demanded money to exchange for sending all the videos. This alone broke her heart, and to make matters worse, the friend had apparently shared the clips with others in the group. They do not yet know all the details and are waiting for the police to summon the other friends involved for questioning.
Mr. Lhod, the father of Ms. View, said last night he took his daughter for a medical examination at the hospital. The doctor said the incident happened a long time ago, so signs of sexual assault might not be detectable. However, the doctor added that if substances other than alcohol had been ingested, tests might show them. Therefore, blood samples were taken, since his daughter might have lost consciousness from other substances. Seeing the photos almost broke his heart. As a parent, it is unbearable. He hopes the police will bring the group of boys for questioning to uncover the truth. If anyone is guilty, they must be punished. His greatest fear is that the images and videos will spread further on social media.
Initially, the police plan to invite the family to give statements again along with multidisciplinary professionals. They will then issue summons for the seven friends, both male and female, who were present during the incident to investigate and identify those responsible for legal action. The charges will be divided into two categories: first, those who committed sexual assault, and second, those who distributed the clips and photos on social media. The investigation is currently ongoing.
