Chokchai Police Chief Reveals Dam Ban Tai Surrenders After Stabbing Jack 191 at Utd Ratchadas Birthday Party at Ladprao-Wanghin Fishing Pond

Chokchai Police Chief revealed that 'Dam Ban Tai' has contacted authorities to surrender after stabbing 'Lt. Jack 191,' a close associate of 'Ko Thasai,' nearly fatally during 'Utd Ratchada's birthday party at a fishing pond venue in the Ladprao-Wanghin area.

A video circulating shows a group of men fighting and exchanging blows at the birthday party of a prominent figure. Police attending the event intervened but were injured when stabbed. The party took place at a fishing pond restaurant in the Ladprao-Wanghin area on the night of 19 August. Many influential figures, including police and military personnel, attended the event.

At 11:00 a.m. on 21 August 2016, Pol. Col. Phontavee Somwong, Chief of Chokchai Police Station, provided an update on the case. On the evening of 19 August, Utd Ratchada held a birthday banquet with Chinese-style dining at the Harley Fishing Pond restaurant in Wanghin (also called Harley Fishing Pond), located near the Wanghin intersection on Ladprao-Wanghin Road, Soi 93-95 (Soi Koyee), Ladprao District, Bangkok. The venue is owned by the organizer and attracted a group of Harley motorcycle enthusiasts, as the host is fond of that style. Several notable figures from social circles, police, and military also attended.

Pol. Col. Phontavee added that around 11:00 p.m., near the end of the party, Moo Tawanna approached and slapped Nueng Bangkapi, a junior member of the Harley group. It is believed there was prior animosity. Nueng was seated near the table of Bangmat Klongtan, Kamnan Frank Ayutthaya, and Ko Thasai.

Nueng Bangkapi's group, comprising several people, was displeased and confronted Moo Tawanna. A loud argument ensued, escalating into a scuffle. Kamnan Frank Ayutthaya and Ko Thasai tried to intervene. Subsequently, punches were thrown, and glasses and chairs were hurled. Meanwhile, an announcement over the PA system urged everyone to stop fighting, emphasizing that they were all acquaintances and asking respect for the host.

During the chaotic fight, Lt. Col. Sitthichai Petchin, age 56, also known as Lt. Jack 191, an undercover officer assigned to the Patrol and Special Operations Division (191), who was friends with Ko Thasai and attending the event, tried to break up the fight. He was stabbed twice in the abdomen. His friend, Satthawat Kaewka, suffered a cut to his right eyebrow, likely caused by a thrown glass. Both were taken to Paolo Chokchai 4 Hospital for treatment.

The Chokchai Police Chief further revealed that after the incident, initial charges were filed against the event organizer for causing a public disturbance due to noise. Lt. Col. Sitthichai, although injured, has been questioned and is able to communicate. Satthawat has recovered from his injury and returned home but was also summoned for questioning.

The assailant who stabbed Lt. Col. Sitthichai is identified as Dam Ban Tai, who has contacted police to surrender. Those involved in the brawl will all be summoned for prosecution if identified. Multiple attendees recorded the incident from various angles and shared the clips on social media.

Reporters noted that attendees at the party included notable figures such as Phaya Tor, Ko Thasai, Bangmat Klongtan, and Laseht Kamnan Frank Ayutthaya, among others.
