Tragic news: 'Tek Hua Hin,' a famous snooker player, was killed in a hit-and-run by a ten-wheeler truck. Police are urgently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the involved driver.
At 03:40 on 22 Aug 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chetta Thapyaprapa, deputy investigation officer at Phetkasem Police Station, received a report of a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a ten-wheeler truck and a motorcycle in front of Thanakom Village on Kanchanaphisek Road, Lak Song Subdistrict, Bang Khae District, Bangkok. He, along with Police Colonel Pramot Janboonkaew, chief of Phetkasem Police Station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Boonyarak Thongin, deputy traffic chief, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers, rushed to the scene for investigation.
At the scene on the road in front of the village, they found a gray-black Honda Wave 100 motorcycle registered in Prachuap Khiri Khan belonging to the deceased, later identified as 59-year-old snooker player Warawit Suriyasriwan, nicknamed Tek Hua Hin. The body had been dragged 400 to 500 meters along the road. The victim lay face down wearing a short-sleeved blue and white sports shirt and black shorts, with a skull fracture, severe bodily injuries, and torn clothing.
Investigation revealed that Warawit lived in a flat on Phetkasem Road. On the afternoon of 21 Aug, he left home riding a motorcycle to play snooker with friends near Thanakom Village. Afterwards, he went with friends by car to attend a party near the accident location.
Before leaving the party, he spoke by phone with his wife. Then a friend drove him back to the snooker club. As Warawit rode his motorcycle out of the village exit, he was struck and dragged by a ten-wheeler truck, which then fled the scene, leaving him fatally injured.
Authorities arranged for the body to be sent to Siriraj Hospital for autopsy. They are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify and prosecute the truck driver according to the law.
