'Big Tao' was promoted to chief of the Office of the National Police Chief, and Aticha advanced to lead Provincial Police Region 3.
On 23 Aug 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at the National Police Operations Center, 20th floor, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, National Police Chief, chaired the screening board meeting to select police officers from assistant national police chiefs to provincial police commanders nationwide.
The board included Pol. Gen. Thana Chuwong, deputy national police chief; Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitanillabut, deputy national police chief; Pol. Gen. Niranon Luemsri, deputy national police chief; Pol. Gen. Kornchai Klai-klueng, deputy national police chief; Pol. Gen. Itthipol Acharayapradit, Police Commissioner. This year, there are 156 vacancies for deputy national police chiefs to provincial commanders: 3 deputy national police chiefs, 6 assistant national police chiefs, 19 bureau chiefs, 41 deputy bureau chiefs, and 94 provincial police commanders.
There are 3 deputy national police chief vacancies. Assistant national police chiefs were promoted by seniority: Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopawat Arayangkoon and Pol. Lt. Gen. Krisda Surachatepong were promoted to deputy national police chiefs. Pol. Lt. Gen. Thanapon Srisopha, deputy police commissioner, was promoted to police commissioner.
Six assistant national police chief positions are vacant. Bureau chiefs were promoted by seniority: Pol. Lt. Gen. Wimon Pitakburapha, chief of the Special Operations Bureau, class of 2002 police academy, was transferred to chief of Provincial Police Region 8. Pol. Lt. Gen. Phumin Phumpanmuang, chief of the Office of the National Police Chief, class of 2009 police academy, was transferred to chief of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau. Pol. Maj. Gen. Pongsayam Meekhanthong, deputy chief of Tourist Police Bureau, class of 1999 police academy and former aide to former National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Sant Sarutanont, was promoted to chief of Tourist Police Bureau. Pol. Maj. Gen. Samran Nualma, incoming National Police Chief, and recipient of compensation from the Police Welfare Commission, was promoted to chief of the Special Investigation Bureau. Pol. Maj. Gen. Wiwat Kamchamnan, deputy chief of the Special Branch Bureau, class of 2002 police academy and also a recipient of Police Welfare Commission compensation, was promoted to chief of the Office of the National Police Chief. Pol. Maj. Gen. Preeda Sathaworn, deputy chief of the Special Security Bureau, was promoted to chief of the Office of the National Police Chief. Pol. Maj. Gen. Prithipong Prayursiri, chief of Provincial Police Region 3, class of 1999 police academy, was reassigned as chief of the Provincial Police Bureau. Pol. Maj. Gen. Chomchawin Purathananon, deputy chief of Provincial Police Region 7, class of 2004 police academy and a key officer, was promoted to chief of the Office of the National Police Chief to coordinate with the prime minister.
