The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has submitted charges against Chonnapat in an online gambling case, accompanied by over 10,000 pages of case files. He denies all allegations and has filed a petition covering nine points seeking justice, stating he is preparing evidence to prove his innocence.
On 24 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that the special investigation officers of the DSI submitted the case files of the online gambling website, along with Chonnapat Naksua, Member of Parliament for Songkhla District 4 from the Kla Party, to the Special Prosecutor's Office on Ratchadaphisek Road for legal consideration.
The case file contains approximately 12,000 pages, packed in six boxes. Four charges were brought: jointly organizing unauthorized electronic gambling, conspiracy between two or more persons to commit money laundering, money laundering, and participation in a transnational criminal organization, including gang-related offenses.
Previously, the Attorney General provided opinions regarding the charges of gang-related offenses under Criminal Code Section 209 and involvement in a transnational criminal organization under the Prevention and Suppression of Transnational Criminal Organizations Act, B.E. 2556 (2013).
Meanwhile, Chonnapat, who previously acknowledged the charges with DSI investigators and denied all allegations, appeared today as scheduled and submitted a petition for justice to the prosecutor containing nine points.
Chonnapat affirmed that he is not involved with the online gambling website or money laundering and is confident in the evidence he has prepared to defend the case. He stated that facing the charges is an opportunity to clarify the facts and prove his innocence to the public. He also emphasized he will not use his MP privileges to evade justice and is ready to fully comply with the legal process.
