The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is preparing to submit the case file of the "Tangmo case" to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Wednesday, 26 Aug 2026 GMT+7, linking about 40 state officials and private individuals involved in tampering with the investigation in the justice process.
On 24 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Associate Professor Panthap Puapongpant, chairman of the Foundation for Guardians of the Nation, posted on his personal Facebook stating, "In summary, the investigation results confirm that tampering in the Tangmo case is real. DSI will submit the case to the NACC to prosecute those involved this Wednesday." This prompted many comments thereafter.
Regarding this matter, a reporter from the Department of Special Investigation reported that Investigation Team 20/2568 has completed the investigation and evidence collection, including witness testimonies, forensic evidence, photos of people on the boat—whose forensic results conflict with the boat's GPS and cellphone data—and other gathered evidence compiled into 45 case folders totaling over 13,000 pages. Approximately 40 individuals, including government officials and private persons, were found involved in distorting the investigation results during the justice process.
This follows the Nonthaburi Provincial Court's dismissal of charges against Miss Ichsarin Jutasuksawat (nickname Kratik), Mr. Wisapath Manomairat (nickname Sand), Mr. Nittat Keeratisutthisathorn (nickname Job), and Mr. Pheem Thammateerasri (nickname M), four individuals accused of negligence causing death in the case of Miss Pattharida Patcharawirapong (nickname Tangmo), a former famous actress who died after falling from a speedboat in 2022.
Subsequently, the DSI, led by Investigation Team 20/2568, took over the investigation following complaints filed by Mrs. Panida Siriyutthayothin, Tangmo’s mother, and Mr. Acharia Ruangrattanapong, chairman of the Crime Victims Assistance Club. They alleged suspected misconduct involving various groups collaborating to unlawfully distort the criminal justice process to help others avoid or reduce punishment. The DSI assigned lawyers to examine the death case, accepted evidence, documents, and objects, and conducted witness interviews to ensure an effective investigation. The investigation started in February 2025 and has continued until now, with plans to submit the case file to the NACC on Wednesday, 26 Aug 2026 GMT+7 at 10:00 a.m., totaling over a year of work.
