Police Colonel Thanaphan Phadungkan, Superintendent of Lat Phrao Police Station, revealed that all five members of a police-offspring gang who shot a rival rider, nearly killing him, have been arrested and face serious charges.
In the case where five assailants drove a car to surround and shoot Thanadon Phakkraser, 23, a rider by profession, nearly killing him near Pho Kaeo Intersection, Nawamin 60 Alley, Nawamin Subdistrict, Bueng Kum District, Bangkok, in the early hours of 24 August, Police Colonel Thanaphan Phadungkan, Superintendent of Lat Phrao Police Station, mobilized the station's investigation unit along with relevant agencies to arrest Ice, 19, the shooter, and Marty (alias), 14, the police officer's son who drove the car. Three other suspects, Kaew, Ter, and Benz, initially fled.
Most recently, at 18:30 on 26 August 2023, Police Colonel Thanaphan Phadungkan said that relatives of the three remaining suspects—Kittipoom Prompit or Benz, 21; Prin or Kaew, 18; and Ter (alias), 17—came to surrender to him at the Lat Phrao Police Station's investigation unit after facing heavy police pressure.
Kaew and Benz were arrested under warrants, while Ter, as a minor, received a summons from the court. All three were charged with attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying firearms in public places, and discharging firearms in public areas, villages, or communities.
Tomorrow (27 August), a multidisciplinary team will question Ter due to his status as a minor. Kaew and Benz will be held for a bail hearing at the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road to proceed with legal action.
