
The 3rd Region Border Patrol Police joined forces with the Thap Jaotak Special Task Force and Pha Muang Task Force to intercept a drug trafficking gang, seizing 2.89 million methamphetamine pills and 260 kilograms of ketamine in Chiang Rai province.
On 26 Aug 2026 GMT+7 at the 327th Border Patrol Police Company headquarters, Pol.Col. Rangsiman Songkrotham, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Region Border Patrol Police, and Col. Thawat Inkong, Deputy Commander of the Thap Jaotak Special Task Force, jointly announced that at 15:00 on 25 Aug 2026, soldiers from the 2nd Company of the Thap Jaotak Special Task Force, Pha Muang Task Force, set up a drug checkpoint near Ban Pha Mee, Wiang Pang Kham Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai. They received information about a large drug shipment being transported from the border into the area.
They coordinated with Pol.Lt.Col. Khajornphon Detmee, Deputy Superintendent of Border Patrol Police Company 32; Pol.Lt.Col. Chawalit Kamtu, Deputy Superintendent and Head of the 327th Border Patrol Police Company; Pol.Sgt.Maj. Thanawat Tipwaree, Commander of the 327th Company; Lt. Somchai Soisang, Deputy Commander; Lt. Kittinath Singhasame, Deputy Commander; and Lt. Parin Worachokkunakorn, Deputy Commander of the 327th Company, to intercept Anucha Chuay-ngan, 30, from Nong Waeng Subdistrict, Theparak District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. They seized 2,890,000 methamphetamine tablets and a white Toyota Avanza, license plate 4 กพ 8691 Bangkok, parked on road ChR 4034 in Pa Lao Village, Moo 3, Dong Mahawan Subdistrict, Wiang Chiang Rung District, Chiang Rai.
Subsequently, officers from the 327th Border Patrol Police Company, Region 3, together with the Thap Jaotak Special Task Force and Mae Sai local administration, expanded the investigation by raiding a commercial building in Moo 1, Wiang Pang Kham Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai. They arrested three suspects: Jiang Naitun, 23, from Koh Chang Subdistrict, Mae Sai; Mason Kamdee, 23, from Tha Sut Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai; and Myo Min Oo, 29, from Sri Thoi Subdistrict, Mae Chai District, Phayao Province. All three hold stateless person identity cards. Authorities seized 13 sacks of rice bags containing ketamine weighing a total of 260 kilograms. The evidence was confiscated, and investigations continue to identify additional accomplices for prosecution.
