A woman was strangled to death inside a rental room in Saraburi, allegedly by her husband who came to watch over her late at night, suspected of fearing she was unfaithful. He then fled in a pickup truck and died in a rear-end collision with a trailer truck in Ayutthaya.
On 28 Aug 2026 at 09:30, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanachok Chokphatnatavee, the investigating officer at Nong Khae Police Station, Saraburi province, received a report of a woman found dead inside a rental room in Nong Pling subdistrict, Nong Khae district, Saraburi. He coordinated with Nong Khae Hospital, Saraburi Forensic Science Division, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers at Nong Khae to inspect the scene.
The scene was a single-story row of rental rooms. The victim, identified as Ms. Sureephon, 30, was found dead on a yellow cartoon-patterned bed, wearing a pink sports shirt and black shorts. A leather belt was wrapped around her neck. Below her left chin was a roughly 5-centimeter wound with bleeding, apparently from a sharp object. Bruises were visible on her body. She was lying on her back and had likely been dead for over five hours. The room showed no signs of ransacking; valuables such as a gold necklace and a gold-framed amulet remained intact. Saraburi forensic officials collected evidence inside the room.
It was learned that the victim had rented the room for less than a month. The perpetrator is Mr. Chonsorn, 33, the victim’s husband. On the day of the incident,Mr. Chonsorn parked his bronze-silver pickup truck at a gas station along Rapeepat Khlong Chonprathan Road around midnight, then walked about 4 kilometers to the rental room to watch his wife’s behavior. Around 6 a.m., he took his wife’s gray Honda Wave 125I motorcycle and left it parked at the gas station, then fled in the pickup truck he had left there.
. . .Ms. Natnaree, the victim’s younger sister, called her multiple times but received no answer. Feeling something was wrong, she drove to the rental room and found her sister dead.
Ms. Natnaree revealed that her sister and brother-in-law had jealousy issues; the brother-in-law suspected his wife of having another man. After the sister moved into the rental room, the brother-in-law brought belongings there by pickup truck. The previous night, he likely lay in wait and discovered something. He posted online expressing regret about his actions. The family was unable to contact him, so they came to check on the sister at the rental room this morning and found her body.
The sister and brother-in-law have two children, aged 10 and 6. The sister had recently left her factory job and was seeking new employment. The brother-in-law worked at a factory in Tha Ruea district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. It was reported that he died in a pickup truck collision with a trailer truck on Ban Rom–Lang Wat Bueng Road, Wang Daeng subdistrict, Tha Ruea district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, that morning.
Mrs. Rattana, 54, the victim’s mother, came to see her daughter’s body, crying continuously. She lit one incense stick to call her daughter’s spirit from the rental room back to their home in Tha Ruea district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, their hometown.
After inspecting the room, Saraburi forensic officers went to collect fingerprints from the gray Honda Wave 125I motorcycle parked inside the gas station.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanachok Chokphatnatavee instructed Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers at Nong Khae to transport Ms. Sureephon’s body for a detailed autopsy at Srinakharinwirot University Hospital in Ongkharak district, Nakhon Nayok province, to determine the exact cause of death.
